My book is about a great man called Hernan Cortes. Hernan Cortes was a Spanish conquistador who in 1519 travelled to what is today Mexico and conquered the Aztecs. Hernan Cortes’s story is a great example that follows Jared Diamond’s theory on guns, germs, and steel. Hernan brought spanish guns Toledo steel swords and also brought smallpox which weakened and killed many Aztec soldiers. My book is loosely based around the diary that hernan was writing when he was conquering them. My novel is a historical fiction, what that means is that most of the dialogue spoken never happened but a lot of the broad facts, accomplishments, actions and places all did happen in real life. Each diary entry is a different point in time of his exploration. My book starts when Hernan is still at sea, mid voyage to what was then Tenochtitlan but today Mexico. But you must read the rest to find out what happened to Hernan Cortes along the way on his life changing adventure. I hope you enjoy!
