Discoveries of Juan Ponce de Leon

“Juan Ponce de Leon was a very famous discoverer, leader and fighter. He was also the oldest son of a Spanish nobleman, Juan didn’t have a choice of who or what he wanted be when he grew up. He was born around 1460 on the 8 of April. In his early life he served as a page at the court of Aragon. This is where he learned military skills, how to be social and many other useful ways of being a soldier. After his serving days, he became a proper soldier where he fought against the muslims in a war where Ponce de Leon was able to earn his spot on Christopher Columbuses second voyage. He made his own expeditions at some point thinking that he was able to find the fountain of youth (a fountain hidden in the new world with water that held eternal life and many other great treasures). He was the first European to set foot in Puerto Rico and find lots of gold where he grew rich. Ponce de Leon was also the first European to set foot in Florida, back in the 1500’s he named it La Florida and at the time.
