Across the Blue

Sir Walter Raleigh has just been released from prison and hears of a mysterious city of gold. He sets sail in search of the city, and arrives at the coast of Venezuela. Him and his men meet the native people, and are praised and worshipped by them. The Europeans bring foreign diseases which are slowly killing the natives, as well as strange tools and guns. Slowly, the native population decreases, including the only boy who knew of the golden city. Will Walter and his men find the city of gold? Or perish in the foreign land?

Across the blue is a historical fiction showing the relationship between the native americans and the invading europeans, and the destruction brought upon the americas upon their arrival. The novel focuses on the journey made by Sir Walter Raleigh in 1595 to Venezuela.
